1871, New Edition. London : G. Bell and Daldy. Poor set in brown buckram boards backed by gilt-blocked leather, now heavily rubbed and crumbling at the endbands. Boards lightly scuffed, with edges worn and corners bumped. Vol. 1 front joint torn and with both boards lacking (text complete); vol. 4 front joint torn from the head, with hinge broken (backstrip detached from text and pivoting at the rear). Text blocks remain clean and strong on the whole, with some infrequent and tidy marginal annotations. A very serviceable set. Item #470439
