Endpapers slightly dust-dulled, with text remaining bright and clean. A well-preserved example overall. Provenance: bookplate of W. Alex Richard, and later (1946) initials of Sir Lawrence Gowing. The volume contains minor pencil annotations in the latter's hand to the rear pastedown, and a leaf of manuscript notes. Item #467210
