Gainsborough's landscape drawings
1939, First Edition. London : Faber and Faber. Very good copy in contemporary beige cloth boards, now somewhat dust-dulled; corners and endbands somewhat rubbed. Spine title gilt-blocked inside a teal-printed panel. Top edge gilt, if now somewhat dust-toned. Faint crease to the top corner of some earlier leaves. Preliminary and final leaves lightly foxed, with the interior remaining otherwise tight, bright and clean. A well-preserved copy overall. Provenance: from the library of Sir Lawrence Gowing.
