Very good copies all in contemporary red cloth, with titles blocked in black to the front and gilt to the spine. Minor rubbing to panel edges and endbands. Spines uniformly sun-toned; some covers show very minor spotting. Faint foxing to some preliminary and final leaves only, with text blocks remaining tight, bright and clean overall. A remarkably well-preserved and historically notable set. Provenance: bookplates of Martin Rodney Davies, some with his contemporary autograph to the front endpapers. Item #461641
