1868, First Edition in this form. Edinburgh : William P. Nimmo. Very good copies both in prize bindings of gilt-blocked full aniline calf. Boards lightly scuffed; spines, now somewhat rubbed, with raised bands and title labels in red and black leather, showing minor marginal loss on volume 1. Headband to volume 1 lifting slightly. Endpapers and edges marbled, with text remaining tight, bright and clean. Provenance: bookplates of John & Helen Collins, with 1872 prize label mounted to volume 1 pastedown. Item #460307
