1885, First Edition. London : T. C. Jack. Poor copy in contemporary green buckram boards, with a blind-tooled armorial motif to both boards and titles gilt-blocked to the spine. Heavily rubbed at the edges and corners; boards somewhat worn on surfaces. Joints and endbands somewhat rubbed. Hinges crudely but effectively repaired. Preliminary and final leaves somewhat foxed and ragged at the margins. Plates 86 and 87 are somewhat ragged and dust-toned along the fore- and lower margins, though the text on those plates remains clean. The text is otherwise tight, bright and clean overall. An internally well-preserved and very serviceable copy overall. Item #459122
