The Roman poets of the Augustan age: Virgil
1877, First Edition. Oxford : Clarendon Press. Very good copy in the original prize binding of full, gilt-blocked leather, with the prize label on the front pastedown. Features gilt armorial motifs on both boards, a gilt-tooled spine, and a red leather title label. Shows typical age-wear: the spine and edges are dust-toned and rubbed, and there is a scuff on the front board. Marbled endpapers and edges. Internally, there is a tear to the front free endpaper and foxed prelims, but the text block is otherwise remarkably tight, bright, and clean. A well-preserved copy overall. Item #450701
