1753, Early Edition. London : Printed for J. and R. Tonson and S. Draper. Good copies in the original full leather with raised bands and gilt-blocked labels to spine. Expected wear from age, with covers somewhat scuffed; corners and panel edges somewhat bumped and frayed. Spine panel worn on v.7 with some loss, and minor loss to v.5 and v.8 panels. Hinges all slightly cracked internally, but secure and text block tight. Some faint, scattered foxing within. Some pencil annotations to endpapers of volume 1. Remains a well-preserved set overall.
